Center to address teacher shortage

The State of California recently launched the California Center on Teaching Careers to address the teacher shortage crisis facing the state, and they have named the Tulare County Office of Education to lead the new statewide agency in a reinvigorated effort to recruit and retain quality teaching candidates.

With support from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and the state legislature, the center will attract new teachers and help place and retain them in classrooms across the state, especially in areas with the highest need-including rural schools as well as in the STEM, bilingual and special education fields.
