New center aims to improve science education for Merced students

Merced City School District officials, elected officials and community members gathered Wednesday for a dedication ceremony to the districts recent learning center, district official said.

The STEAM Center, which stands for science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics, opened in August and is located by Ada Givens Elementary, officials said. The 5,460 square foot center is open to all students in MCSD and provides them with hands-on learning that helps them prepare for their future.
