Economic Development Seed Grant

Building Angel Investment
and Entrepreneurship
Golden Capital Network and Pacific Community Ventures
$225,000

Golden Capital Network (GCN) proposed to develop a new, innovative local and multiregional equity financing system strategically linked with the business assistance services and the deal flow-generating activities of GCN. This, in partnership with Pacific Community Ventures, will result in a multiregional network of angel funds that would be strategically aligned with an existing private equity fund. This collaborative project proposes to aggressively build an infrastructure that engages many sectors (entrepreneurs, economic development corporations, small business development centers, economic development departments, professional services providers and venture capitalists and financiers) throughout the San Joaquin Valley to provide a standard information delivery system, and access to knowledge and support that will have a powerful impact on the creation and growth of entrepreneurial businesses.

Deliverable

Network of services and training resources for entrepreneurs and small business owners, with a focus on attracting venture capital
